Brett & Erica

Last weekend I traveled to Banner Elk, NC for Brett & Erica's wedding. I met them last October while shooting another wedding. At the end of the night, they asked me about shooting their wedding and it all worked out.

Amanda traveled with me and our trip included lots of laughs and fun times. We even had the chance to go White Water Rafting.

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to know people and shooting them like they really are. When Brett & Erica told me that their number one favorite thing to do was go fly fishing, I knew we had to get photos of it! We had a blast and bared the ice cold water for some great shots!

We even managed to get shots of them horseback riding at a local ranch! We also found a local country store and a cornfield to shoot at. Check out their slideshow by clicking here.

Todd & Isabel

I am totally excited about Todd & Isabel's wedding! They will be married September, 16th and I have heard lots of really cool details about the big day. Just a couple of weeks ago we headed around town for their engagement session. We got to the beach just in time to catch the start of a large thunderstorm so we were out there shooting with lightning all around. It was crazy. We managed to somehow miss the rain and head over to Mayfaire for the evening.

We had everything planned out so that we would spend the afternoon capturing them doing things they love to do together. Then towards the end of the night it started pouring down rain. I asked them if they would mind getting wet and they loved the idea. We pulled into an empty parking lot and the last posted photo is our result! Enjoy the photos and stay tuned for wedding images to come soon!

Brian & Stacey

Here are the photos I promised! Brian and Stacey and I met up the day after their wedding for a fun shoot! Our initial plan was to head over to the Coast Guard station and cruise the open ocean on one of their vessels. Because Brian and Stacey are both in the Coast Guard, they worked it out! We really had a great time out on the ship and got some great shots!

We were going to meet back up the following Saturday for a trash the dress session but Stacey wanted to trash the dress after the fun shoot instead! So we headed for Wrightsville Beach and she pretty much jumped right in the ocean. we really had a blast and Stacey and Brian both were so awesome! Thanks for an incredible time you two! I totally enjoyed working with you both!

The wedding images will posted soon too... I am still editing them!

No Ordinary Day

I have not even had the chance to blog about a killer shoot I did last week at Wrightsville Beach. When I met Stacey I knew she was going to be awesome to work with. I told her about the idea of trashing her dress on the beach and she was all for it! So on Monday, the day after her wedding, we headed to the beach to get into the ocean!

While I was shooting I realized another photographer was taking photos behind me. I wondered what she was up to but then I found out she was with The News and Observer and wanted to get more info for the paper. She wrote down all of our information and of course, she did not mention me in the article, but never the less, the story came out in today's News and Observer! I will post my photos from the day this afternoon!

Joseph Robert Hawn

Welcome Joey to the world! He arrived yesterday morning and weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and a whopping 21" long. He has a head full of hair and is absolutely adorable. Joby, Amy and Ramsey all welcomed him with huge smiles yesterday. Ramsey is going to make a great big brother. Right after he saw Joey, he looked up at his Dad and said, "I'm so excited!" But he didn't even have to say it, his huge smile gave his excitement away at first glance. Because Ramsey is just 5, he was not allowed in the nursery but that didn't stop him from getting his shirt stamped with Joey's footprints. He took it off and sent his shirt in as he watched them stamp it from the window. He is going to make a great big brother! Congratulations to the entire Hawn family!

Jamie & Melissa

I spent last weekend on the beautiful countryside of Roanoke, Virginia. I had the opportunity to photograph Jamie and Melissa in celebration of their engagement. Our locations included, a creek in the mountains (glad we had the 4-wheel drive), a cow pasture, the horse stables, and a huge barn. I had a ton of fun photographing them. They are a really fun-loving couple and I always enjoy unique locations. I will be shooting Jamie and Melissa's wedding in Roanoke, VA next June and I can hardly wait!
